Juiced Bikes is a well-loved California based electric bike company that strives to offer innovative products at an accessible price. Though every Juiced Bike is designed in San Diego, the bike parts are manufactured in China. They offer a full range of electric bikes, including commuter bikes and mopeds. For this review, we’re going to focus on one of their most popular models: the CrossCurrent X Electric Commuter Bike.

The Juiced Bikes CrossCurrent X retails for $2,499.99 and is available in three sizes with three distinct color options, including red gloss, aluminum, and matte black. Each color is available in three frame sizes: 16.5 (Medium), 18 (Large), and 20 inch (X-large) models. Every frame is made from durable 6061 aluminum alloy for enhanced durability and long-lasting performance.

As far as commuter bikes go, this is a model dedicated to getting you from A to B with some serious power. A 750-Watt Bafang Geared Hub Motor ensures top speeds of up to 20mph with throttle or 28mph with pedal assist. Speaking of pedal assist, there are seven distinct levels with full throttle. In contrast, similarly priced bike models only offer one level of pedal assist.

Of course, you won’t be getting far without a charged battery. This is what really sets the CrossCurrentX apart from similar e-bikes. Each model is equipped with a generous 52V 19.2Ah LG Chem Battery that can last up to 600 charge cycles. Riders can enjoy a range of 45 to 70+ miles on a single charge. The battery can go from depleted to full in around 8 hours. To keep an eye on battery life, Juiced has included an IP65 backlit LCD display that offers speedometer, wattmeter, odometer, and battery gauge.

To keep this model riding smooth, Juiced included a Suntour Suspension Fork NEX HLO 700 as well as 9 Speed Shimano Cassette Drivetrain. For quick breaking, you’ll also find Tektro HD-E350 hydraulic disc 180mm disc. The 28-inch Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires allow you to take on wet pavement, gravel, or smooth pavement with ease.

Overall, the Juiced Crosscurrent X is a solid choice for someone who wants a top quality bike that encompasses a large motor, long range, and smooth ride. Though a bit pricey, this bike can be well worth the price for more experienced riders or those seeking a more seamless commute.
