PROS:
  • As the battery is integrated into the frame, you can benefit from many advantages. For example, the bike looks pretty sleek, and the battery is protected from damage and the elements.
  • With the Marshall being a class 2 electric bike, you can ride it using the throttle without pedaling.
  • The Microshift 7-speed drivetrain is precise, smooth, and easy to use, so you can quickly move through the gears when you need to.
CONS:
  • The Schwinn Marshall is a class 2 electric bike, which means its top speed is limited to 20mph, but you can ride it pretty much anywhere legally.
  • As the motor is only 250W, the throttle struggles a little with steep hills but is fine for small hills and flat ground.

The Schwinn Marshall is a great electric bike that feels good on the road and mild off-road trails. It is an attractive-looking bike that doesn’t cost too much and has the added bonus of a throttle.

American bike manufacturer Schwinn has been around for over 100 years. They are well known for producing bikes at either end of the pricing spectrum, as their range includes high-end and budget bikes.

Schwinn entered the electric bike market in 2019, providing ebikes at affordable prices, making them more accessible to more people.

The Schwinn Marshall is a cool-looking hybrid electric bike with design cues taken from mountain bikes. Costing under $1,600, the Marshall is a comfortable cruiser with a user-friendly step-through frame.

This great electric bike had a 250W motor powered by a 288Wh battery that is fully integrated into the frame. Depending on the profile of your ride and how you use the 5 levels of pedal assist, you can get up to 35 miles on a single charge.

You can charge the battery in 4 hours from flat, so you can be underway pretty quickly.

The aluminum frame is well put together and puts you in an upright riding position. You sit more upright than you would on a standard mountain bike, but this adds to the bike’s safety as you have a good field of view.

You can choose your Marshall in grey or periwinkle blue. Both colors look great and compliment the shape of the frame well.

Schwinn has fitted the Marshal electric bike with a suspension fork. This reduces the vibrations from the road, creating a more comfortable ride. It also makes light off-road riding possible. However, if you wanted to ride anything more technical, you would need to upgrade the tires on the 27.5″ wheels.

To help you stay in control, the Schwinn Marshall has powerful JAK 7 mechanical disc brakes. These use the 180 mm front and 160 mm rear rotors very well in all weather conditions.

Schwinn provides free shipping on all products over $49. You also get to take advantage of a 30-day returns policy and limited lifetime warranty.

An excellent alternative to the Schwinn Marshall is the Ride1Up 500 Series. This bike is cheaper, but it only comes in one size, whereas the Marshall comes in two sizes. Therefore, the Schwinn Marshall may be the better choice depending on your height.

The Schwinn Marshall is a great electric bike that feels good on the road and mild off-road trails. It is an attractive-looking bike that doesn’t cost too much and has the added bonus of a throttle.
